The projects are being funded CaribbeanTales Media Group, and telecom company Flow, with each project receiving US$40,000.
A sci-fi/drama animated series entitled “Battledream Chronicle”, will be the first production. Created by Alain Bidard of Martinque, “Battledream Chronicle” its based on his groundbreaking multi-award-winning feature film “Heat”.
The 2nd will be a crime/drama series filmed in Barbados by its iconic filmmaker Menelik Shabazz, and the 3rd, entitled “Caribbean Girl NYC” – a female driven ensemble sitcom created by New York based Guadeloupian filmmaker/producer Mariette Monpierre.
Production on the 3 pilots will begin in April, and the final cuts will premier in September at the CaribbeanTales International Film Festival (CTFF).
The 3 pilots follow 8 documentary series filmed that are now in post-production.
The projects are all supported by the CaribbeanTales Incubator Program (CTI) – year-round development and production hub for Caribbean and Caribbean Diaspora producers.
