A movie profiling the life of cultural icon Grace Jones is in the works.

Grace Jones’ “The Musical of My Life” has been commissioned by BBC Films and will be distributed via Picturehouse Entertainment in the UK.

It has been in production since 2005 and Sophie Fiennes who directed the film, called the project an ‘extraordinary journey of following the yellow brick road’.

“The Musical of My Life” is described as a ‘doc-biopic’ mixing personal footage with stage performances to create a multi-narrative journey through the private and public life of a fearless model, singer and actress, who is one of the most the iconic artist in history.

Although no official release date has been announced, next month parts of the film will premiere at a large-scale concert in Dublin and a full premiere is slated for the UK later this year.

In 2015, 68-year-old Grace Jones – who from Spanish Town released her biography “I’ll Never Write My Memoirs” which came with a box set of her music.
