Rihanna has surpassed Michael Jackson on Billboards list of artists with the most Top Ten Billboard Hits.

On Monday – which was also Rihanna’s 29th birthday, Billboard announced that her song “Love On The Brain”, moved up from #13 to #8 on its Hot 100 chart.

“Love on the Brain” is the 4th song released from Rihanna’s current hit album “Anti”, and the 3rd to reach the Top 10.

It makes her 30th career top 10 hit, surpassing Michael Jackson’s 29 as solo artist.

Before “Love on the Brain” moved up the charts, Rihanna was tied in 3rd place with Michael Jackson, after her songs “Work” reached the #1 spot and “Needed Me” #7.

Now the only other artists to have more top ten hits than Rihanna are The Beatles who have 34 and Madonna who has 38.

Rihanna has the second-fastest accumulation of Top 10s hits — with 10 years, 7 months, and 2 weeks, an average of three hit songs a year, (The Beatles took a little under 6 years).

Her first top 10 hit was her break out song “Pon De Replay” in 2005.  Since then, she has had top ten hit every few months with all but 1 of her 8 albums producing at least 2 top 10 songs.

By the way, Rihanna’s had 29 top 10 hits and 8 number ones on the UK chart and today marks the 1-year anniversary of her music video for “Work” – which has amassed more than 834 million views online.
