“TASTE THE ISLANDS” RETURNS FOR 2ND SEASON

The PBS series “Taste the Islands” returns for a second season.
“Taste the Islands” is a half-hour cooking series produced by Blondie Ras Productions in South Florida, and is hosted by creator Hugh “Chef Irie” Sinclair.
Premiering in 2015, it is the first Jamaican-produced and Jamaican-hosted series to air on national public television in the U.S.
Beginning this June to coincide with Caribbean American Heritage Month, season 2 of “Taste the Islands”- which is being underwritten by Caribbean food brand Grace Foods, will not only air on PBS but also premiere on national lifestyle channel Create® TV.
For season 2, new elements including Chef Irie using Grace Foods products, are 2 new cast members – Cynthia “Chef Thia” Verna from Haiti, and veteran TV host an island explorer “Lisa Lee” Arneaud, originally from New York.
The 8 episode season will see both chefs creating island-themed dishes, and Arneaud presenting travel stories from Barbados, Jamaica and Haiti.
There will also be cameo appearances by Soca Queen Alison Hinds, Jamaican Consul General Franz Hall, celebrity makeup artist Rory Lee, and the music of acclaimed Haitian musician Kapi of the band Tabou
Tastes of the Islands is also supported by Lakay Food, Caribbean Airlines, Wright Style Clothing, and the Jamaica Tourist Board.
