Team Trinidad & Tobago ended the Barbados Beach Soccer Showcase a top finisher.

The showcase – which was held on Brandon’s Beach, hosted teams from Antigua & Barbuda, Guyana, T&T, and England, all using the event as training for the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship scheduled for February 20-26 in the Bahamas.

On day one, T&T beat Guyana 5-2 win, then beat Barbados 6-2 the following day. Attempting to end the 3 match series unbeaten, T&T ended the final match in a 3-3 draw with England, who drew 5-5 with Antigua & Barbuda to make it into the final.

In other final results, host Barbados ended the event with no wins, and Guyana came from behind twice to beat Antigua & Barbuda 4-3, earning its only win of the series.

Following the Barbados Beach Soccer Showcase, the teams now head to Guadeloupe for another training camp before heading to Bahamas for the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship.

In the CONCACAF Championship T&T will kick off against Antigua & Barbuda this Sunday February 19.

By virtue of hosting the tournament, the Bahamas will be the top seed in Group A. The winner and the runner-up will join Bahamas as the three CONCACAF representatives in the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup 2017.
