An early morning quake shook Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago and its South American neighbours, Venezuela.
Initial information from the UWI Seismic Research Centre (SRC) indicates a magnitude 4.2 earthquake was recorded at 5:13 am local time at latitude 11.05N, longitude 61.99W, and at a depth of 10 km.
The quake struck 100.0 km NE of Carúpano, Venezuela, 118.0 km NW of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and 128.0 km SW of St. George’s, Grenada.
The UWI SRC said, however, that the data provided is only a preliminary result automatically located by a seismological computational system, and may vary when new additional data are processed and reviewed by an analyst.
