With unparalleled skills on the turn tables, rising disc jockey Calvin Barrett AKA DJ Calli B continues to remain a spinning gem amongst settled stones. Unlike others within his field, Calli B never considered becoming a DJ as part of his future. A strong, intellectual, it wasn’t until 2003, when the popular Calli B became an intern at the prominenItrie Jam Radio Show, that he knew he wanted to forever remain in the music scene. During this internship he learned all Calli B was responsible for editing songs, remixes and producing.


Through his internship and strenuous private practicing, Calli B was ready to introduce showcase himself to his peers and eventually the world. The budging DJ began spinning records at college, high school and birthday parites during his time at Pace University. Eventually Calli B garnered a large fanbase within the college party circuit and began djing in night clubs throughout NYC. For the past two years, Calli B has been the co-host of a radio show on Friday nights from 8-10 pm on IRIE JAM RADIO alongside world renowned DJ Jabba of Massive B Hot 97 & Marcus Wanted from the Platinum Kids. As his popularity within the US flourished, so has his presence amongst the rest of the world.


Calli B was dubbed, “Young International,” after his massive European tour with reggae artistDa’Ville. Calling the experience one of the best of his life, DJ Calli B has toured in Amsterdam and Japan. Additionally, Calli B has been the personal DJ for big names such as Serani and many other Jamaican radio artists. While not only limited to the Reggae/Caribbean Scene, DJ Calli B has worked with many hip hop artists such aRsay J and Lloyd Banks. Along with playing the piano in his spare time, Calli B has his own unique style, combining hip hop, techno and freestyle in the club scene.


As he began to expand his music empire, Calli B, along with being a DJ and radio host has established his own record labeClo,ol Ras Music. While he continues to DJ, being a producer and building his label is of the utmost importance to him. Life seems to be on the rise for Calli who quips“I thank God every day for everything I have ever achieved but I’m not done yet.”
