2 WINDIES WOMEN NOMINATED FOR ESPN CRICKET AWARDS

2 Windies Women have been nominated for ESPNcricinfo Awards.

Barbadians Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews are both nominated for the 2016 Performance of the Year Award.

Dottin for batting and bowling and Matthews for batting. The two were very instrumental in leading the Windies women to last year’s T20 championship and are currently playing abroad in the Big Bash tournament.

Deandra Dottin is out on injury after colliding with a teammate and fracturing several cheek bones last month, while 18-year old Hayley Matthews was recently named Sports Personality of the Year by the Barbados National Sports Council.

The ESPNcricinfo Awards recognize the best individual batting and bowling performances in cricket over the calendar year. They are voted on by an independent jury of former cricketers, commentators, and ESPNcricinfo’s senior writers.

Other Award nominees include, fellow Bajan Carlos Brathwaite and Jamaican Chris Gayle, both nominated for batting in T20 Internationals.
