Jamaican cricket king Chris Gayle brought in the new year playing mas in St. Kitts & Nevis.

Gayle celebrated Christmas Day through New Year’s Eve in St. Kitts, participating in Sugar Mas, the island’s Carnival.

Sugar Mas runs through the month of December with pageants, competitions, calypso tents, fetes, Jouvert, and a Grand Carnival Parade – which took place today, yesterday January 2.

Via his social media, Chris Gayle exposed his 1.4 million followers to St. Kitts and it’s Sugar Mas by posting photos and videos of himself and his family, at several holiday events and on the road during the Grand Carnival Parade.

Hours before the parade, Gayle posted a video showing his carnival preparations. Shirtless and showing off his 6-pack and newly blonde beard, Gayle was dressed in colorful short pants, and wearing a green and purple headpiece.

He told his followers “I working on the ultra body… Gonna mash up St. Kitts!”. He also warned St. Kittians to look out because he brought his Jamaica crew and a Canada crew along with him.

Throughout the day, Gayle shared videos of himself, friends, and other revelers charging through carnival streets having a time.

Chris Gayle played Sugar Mas with Ultra Carnival Band under their 2017 theme, ‘The Carnival Jungle’ – which won Troup of the Year, and a secondary award for “The Most Punctual Troupe.”

Ultra Carnival reposted Gayle’s video’s on their Instagram page using his signature hashtags ‘#GoneFor6’ along with their own ‘#LTRACulture!’.

Earlier this year 37-year-old Chris Gayle welcomed the birth of a daughter with longtime girlfriend Natasha Berridge, who hails from St. Kitts.

He begins his term with the Patriots for the 2017 Caribbean Premier League, in July, but is already living in the island.
