DWAYNE BRAVO HELPS BLIND CRICKETERS

West Indies All-Rounder Dwayne Bravo, is helping support a blind cricket team.

In partnership with his sponsor Bmobile, Bravo donated a portion of the proceeds from his annual birthday party, to Trinidad & Tobago’s National Blind Cricket Team.

The Bmobile Foundation has supported the team for more than 5 years, and Bravo said he decided to help after reading about them in local newspapers.

Bravo also visited the team during a practice session, where he wore blackout glasses while batting, to gain an understanding of what it’s like playing cricket blind.

Prior to donating his party proceeds, Bravo also donated to the Bmobile Foundation’s Book Buddies initiative – which tries to fulfill booklists for hundreds of T&T students.

The blind cricket players clearly enjoyed the visit, sizing Bravo up, giving him a few ‘talks’, making requests for other players and of course, finishing up the encounter by singing Bravo’s famous hit song, ‘Champion’, even showing off their dance moves.

Bravo – who said he enjoyed the experience, encouraged the team to support each other, and assured them he would return and bring more friends.

T&T’s National Blind Cricket Team are currently Regional T20 and 40-over champions.
